Buttes set ablaze by the fiery dawn, as viewed from Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah. Buttes consisting of multimillion year-old sandstone once represented the sand at the bottom of a floodplain that as a result of complex geologic events mineralized into the impressive edifices present throughout today's Southwest.
